It has been a million years since I have written a post on this blog, I am sure there is no one reading this anymore. I thought though, since I will be going back to running after pregnancy that I might start this up again. Especially since I will not be cleared for exercise for another 3 weeks still. As most of you know, we were blessed with my amazing son, Jack, on 1/8/13. I was fortunate to be able to run almost all the way through my pregnancy stopping at around 37 weeks because of the weight imbalance. I ran Disney's Tower of Terror at 7 months pregnant, and was still participating with my awesome PRC running group each Sunday. Now, with a new year, and a new baby I have a few new goals. I'd like to finish a half marathon in 2:15 or less. Currently my PR is 2:23, and that was over a year ago. My return to halves will be Iron Girl on 4/14, which will be exactly 1 year since I completed my last half, also the Iron Girl. I want to reach 140 pounds, and drop all my pregnancy weight, which is already gone plus two pounds. The goals are attainable, but I just have to change around my routines because of the new baby. I will be training in the fall for my second full marathon which will be January of 2014. I'd like to do that around or below 5 hours.
I will be doing all of this for my family, my son who has had the roughest beginning to life that any little one should have to, and for my husband who is stronger than any person I know for what he has had to go through this first month with our son.
Here's to a great new year! Stay tuned.
